Sudden Death May Occur...

Yay for natural stuff that actually works and doesn't have a side-effect of "sudden death may occur" on the label! Really though, I was listening to an arthritic pain med commercial, and along with a host of other horrible things, "sudden death may occur", said in that soothing voice while the wind was breezing through the actors hair in the background, was listed. I started LAUGHING OUT LOUD. I can't imagine people who get that prescription from their doctor actually realize they are risking sudden death to be able to swing a golf club. So, my most recent success with natural stuff, namely doTERRA essential oils:

ALLERGIES!!! They suck. I have severe pollen allergies March-August. Like-dead man on the couch with a cold rag over my swollen face- kind of severe. Guess what I found out to cure it this year? LAVENDER OIL! All you do is rub one drop on a reflex point on the inside of your left middle finger (or take it internally, but it tastes like dirt and leaves, so put a couple drops in an empty veggie capsule first). I add Peppermint and Lemon also to the mix if i'm really stuffed up also. But Lavender gets rid of the worst of it- the itchy, swollen, tear drenched eyes and throat. It's a natural antihistamine, with no drowsiness attached. It has worked miracles on me this year, I am ecstatic to have found an affordable solution that seriously works. The most potent form of Lavender I have found is from doTERRA. I've done my research, they have a purity standard that beats them all I have found. I love finding natural things that really work. Have I said that before? I have a passion for natural health. Essential oils and basic nutrition are what I am most passionate about, because it's what I see the most results with. Whether it's MS or allergies, everyone can benefit, with side-benefits instead of side-effects people! So far, just a few of my own successful experiences using essential oils are with:

All kinds of burns- sun burn, oven burn, curling iron, straightner, and light bulb burns. MOST of them from my 2 year old. He's never seen a burn blister or had pain for more than 5 minutes in his life from any kind of burn he's gotten. Lavender, Melaleuca, and Peppermint if needed to cool the pain.

Diaper rash- It was bloody by the time I decided to toss the conventional crap and put some faith in my good friend that introduced me to essential oils. Three applications of Melaleuca and Lavender, just 1 drop of each, diluted with a carrier oil (like olive oil or coconut oil) and he was giggling when I'd wipe him.

Food Poisoning- My first experience with essential oils. Was told to put 2 drops of Digest Zen on my tummy and rub it around my belly button. Ya, I was giving a funny look too when I was told that. Then 10 minutes later- BOOM! Or, actually, no boom! All the gassy-painful-nausea-horrible feelings going on inside me wanting to come out went away. My sister was in the midst of birthing her first child when this happened, I was overjoyed when that magic voodoo stuff actually worked!

I am lucky and don't have very many health problems, so my experiences and love of essential oils are gaged from the small everyday "mommy" stuff that happens. I have seen from others close to me what I would almost call miracles, but really it's just God's gift to man being applied correctly and in balance with it's natural state allowing it to work for us, not partially against us like my experience with conventional medicine has been. Well, my first official blog post is up! Hoping it touches somebody and helps in the effort to have a more pro-active approach to our health care.
